FENG SHUI IN OUR ENVIRONMENT

Feng Shui is the analysis of the effect of cosmic energies in our environment that brings about an influence on people’s behaviour and actions. While getting a good Feng Shui place is important, can this however, help in changing our life destiny? Not really because to a large extent, the Feng Shui of our place is closely matched to our life destiny. Feng Shui is just like a “prescription” or “enhancer” in our life. And the type of prescription will depend on the problems or obstacles we face which can be anlysed through our life destiny or “BaZi”. For example, when we are going through a negative cycle say in relationship matters, Feng Shui can be used to firstly ensure the environment does not worsen the situation and secondly, to look at the options of harmonizing and bringing things slightly back into balance.

Quite often, Feng Shui analysis these days are only done for “Internal Environment”, that is within the 4 walls of our property. This, to a certain extent, is right however, there should be a greater recognition of the more important aspect which is the “External Environment”.

The effect of “External Environment’ is far greater than “Internal Environment” because firstly, it is much larger and secondly, it is the actual source or body of these cosmic energies. From the external, these energies or “chi” is then received into the internal through our doors and windows. So, simply base on this fact, wouldn’t you agree that if external environment is negative, no matter what you do with internal environment, the influence is only minimal? So, why then do people still focus so much on internal environment? That’s because we are only able to re-adjust and control the internal. Most of the time, we cannot stop or change what is happening outside, though that does not mean it is less important.

Quite often, people are curious what is involved in “External Environment” analysis. Such analysis takes into account details like the prescence of mountains, rivers, water, tall buildings, structures, surroundings, slope of land, roads and many more. These details are usually taken for granted but in effect, they have a greater influence.

The proper analysis of Feng Shui should always be done for BOTH “Internal” and “External” environment. Only with the understanding of what’s happening outside can we then implement a better judgement and recommendation of the best possible internal layout. Which areas are then the most important sectors to consider? It would be the Main Door, Kitchen and Bedrooms. The main door is the most critical factor as it is the channel through which “chi” is being received into the house. The kitchen is another most active area therefore, we need to understand what energies are activated. And bedrooms are our rest area in which most of us spend at least 6-8 hours.

In summary, apply and approach Feng Shui with a logical mind since it is a science. Take a PROACTIVE approach towards auditing the Feng Shui of your environment and the benefits will be reaped.
